Information About Tea : Shotty Pekoe Black Tea from Sri Lanka

 One of my other personal favorite black teas, hailing from Sri Lanka : Shotty Pekoe.

This robustly, beautiful black tea brews a deep hue in cup, and has a strong flavor profile, very similar to Golden Gunpowder Black tea, another one of my personal favorite types of black tea.

This tea is also known as Ceylon black tea.

I recall some time ago, a good friend of mine, also a tea enthusiast, who used to work at one of my favorite tea houses in the Seattle area, gave me, as a gift, 4 ozs of Shotty Pekoe (Ceylon) Black Tea, free of charge, loose leaf. An unforgettable experience.

This tea is also called Batuwangala Shotty Pekoe, the original name of this exquisite tea.
