Information About Tea : Jasmine Dragon Phoenix Pearl Chinese Green Tea :
One of my other personal favorite types of Green tea from China...Jasmine Dragon Phoenix Pearl...young tea leaves picked at their freshest, then gently rolled into small balls to infuse a sweet, intense cup with a gold liquor.
An interesting fact regarding this tea :
In a certain area of China, on a tea plantation, as farmers gently pick the Jasmine tea leaves, beautiful Chinese women dance in the styles of a Phoenix bird, flames of love and life surrounding her, welcoming the day. Near them, a structure, in the form of a Dragon, shines near the women as they dance, protecting them as their soft, slow movements awaken the energies and forthcomings of the preparation of this exquisite tea.
The Chinese Phoenix, also called Fenghuang, is a very sacred mythical bird to the Chinese. There is a beautiful mountain range, in China, known as Fenghuangshan (Phoenix Mountain).
This bird is linked alongside a dragon (Long), to symbolize a sacred union of Yin (Phoenix) and Yang (Dragon) energies. The Phoenix is of feminine energy; as the Dragon is of masculine energy. The number 8 symbolizes the dragon, as the number 9 represents the phoenix.
The general character of this tea is a sweet, silky and floral beginning, reminding me of blooming jasmine flowers, white as snow, alongside a smooth, heartwarming afterthought. This by far, is one of my personal favorite types of Chinese green tea, up there with Gunpowder green tea, also from China.
In ancient Chinese culture, the Phoenix represents the Empress, as the Dragon represents the Emperor.
I enjoy this tea flavored with lavender flowers, or rose petals, slightly sweetened with natural sugar; either warmed, or iced.
Warmly,
Princess Jamila <3
